Show some love to Douglas Park! Join the Ann Arbor Parks Volunteer Program for an afternoon gardening workday focused on caring for the park’s garden spaces and walkways.

Douglas Park is a busy neighborhood park with a main sidewalk running through it and several nearby bus lines, making it a well-used space for people walking, commuting, gathering and enjoying time outdoors. Volunteer support helps keep this active park cleaner, more welcoming and more enjoyable for everyone who passes through.

During this event, volunteers will focus on weeding the park’s garden areas and clearing weeds from the brick walkways near the bench garden. If the main gardening work is completed, volunteers may also help pick up trash around Douglas Park and possibly other nearby parks.

No prior gardening experience is necessary — staff will provide tools, supplies, training and guidance on site.

Please note that while the park is fairly shaded, August weather may still be hot. Volunteers should bring plenty of water and dress for the weather.

Come lend a hand and help spruce up Douglas Park!
