Camp STAR Volunteers!

STAR Children's Bereavement Services is looking for volunteers for Camp STAR. Camp STAR is a weekend long bereavement camp for kids ages 8-17 that have experienced the death of a significant person in their life. Each camper is paired with a volunteer buddy and each pair is part of a small group of other campers and buddies led by a volunteer leader and co-leader. We have a ton of fun and incorporate grief education and grief coping skills with structured activities. We provide a safe and comfortable place for kids to share and see that they are not alone. It is also a very opening experience for volunteers. A lot is learned, and memories are made at Camp STAR! This camp is in the Upper Peninsula, but since it is a 3 night overnight, it is open to volunteers out of state if you want to join for this incredible experience.
