Description

The Butterfly Reading & Produce Garden is a community space that supports literacy and food access through a Little Free Library, produce, and a butterfly garden. You can help spruce up the space as they prepare for community events! This event is supported by the Foundation 4 Future Foodies, which cares for the Little Free Library at this site. Sign up online to participate!

Impact: You’ll help the garden be a clean, welcoming space for its upcoming read-out-loud event. 

Responsibilities:

  • Clean up the garden lot
  • Install  garden beds and fill with soil
  • Rake and bag debris
  • Other clean up tasks as needed

Time Required: Volunteers are needed from 11 am - 2 pm on May 11. You can arrive anytime between 10:45 am - 11 am to get started. 

Support Available: Organizational leaders will be at the garden showing you what to do. All garden tools will be provided! Popcorn and water will be provided for volunteers. 

Qualifications:

  • Friendly and ready to help!
  • Able to bend, lift, and carry. 
  • Please wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable attire, and bring work gloves.

Requirements

Volunteers who are under the age of 18 need a parent/guardian to complete a volunteer waiver online.
