General Volunteer Description:
The purpose of the Friendly Reassurance program is to provide social interaction for homebound, isolated seniors aged 60 and over via telephone (not in person) contact. The program provides reassurance for family and friends along with wellness and safety checks on those enrolled in the program.
Duties:
- Make daily telephone contact with homebound participants according to the excel spreadsheet provided by the Program
- Maintain daily excel spreadsheets of contacts documenting any unusual or significant activities of the participant.
- An example of this would be that the participant is going out of town, is having family over or is being taken out for dinner. Any activity that you might use in order to draw the participant into a conversation.
- Maintain clear and precise call
- Maintain confidentiality of all information regarding participants.
- Follow emergency procedures, with proper documentation of event.
- Increase program participation through outreach efforts.
- Calculate accurate monthly totals for the Program
Requirements:
- Home Internet
- Ability to use Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the Program Manager using email
- Ability to communicate effectively with program participants
- Ability to attend in person meetings once per month
