Sometimes it’s easy to forget that nondescript plants and animals may have important characteristics that allow an ecosystem to thrive. And while we’d like to always have a view of the water, riverside vegetation can reduce run-off into the water and control erosion. Important ecosystems and a riparian buffer combine with natural beauty to make Furstenberg Nature Area a valuable piece of land. Join NAP and other volunteers in continued dedication to Furstenberg’s restoration by removing invasive plants along the boardwalk.

Meet at the parking lot off Fuller Rd. Workday sites have unpaved trails and require going off-trail.

Preregister through VolunteerHub so NAP can plan on enough staff and supplies for a safe and successful event. For your safety, wear long pants, tall socks, and closed-toe shoes. All minors should be accompanied by a guardian. More information: How to prepare for a NAP workday (PDF).
