The Hazel Park District Library is doing a Harry Potter Party on a Saturday in November from 1-3 pm. Our August party was canceled due to our children's librarian now going to a funeral for her husband's uncle. It is being rescheduled for sometime in November. I would really appreciate help setting it up and running it, although I may just set it up Friday. I will be having various stations where I would love to have some volunteers to work during the program.
1. Sorting hat: I will have a tall chair set up for kids to sit at. 2 people can be stationed here. One person will put the hat on a child and the other person will be on the other side of the library hidden with a walkie talkie. That person will be the voice of the hat.
2. Potions experiment: Magic Milk
3. Potions experiment: blowing up a balloon with a bottle with vinegar and baking soda
4. Experiment: Burning basilik. This one will need to be done outside as it uses fire.
5. Food table: Chocolate frogs, Butter Beer, Bertie Bots Beans.
6. Wand making & lessons: The kids will be making wants with dowels and hot glue and coloring it. Then use it to keep a balloon i the air by saying Wingardium Leviosa.
7. Crafts: Hedwig, Chocolate frog box, origami maraders map, house ties and a hat.
8. Photo booth
9. Game: Pin the glasses on Harry
10. Scavenger hunt: Hand out sheets for the scavenger hunt and then when they bring back the correct answers, let them pick out a prize from the treasure chest. Get photos of the kids with their prizes.
