Join United Way for Southeastern Michigan at Herrington Elementary for an evening Career Preparation Seminar!
The Career Preparation Seminar is to support parents and families ahead of the Herrington Job Fair set for April 2023. The seminar will take place on Thursday, March 16, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Herrington Elementary in Pontiac.
Six (6) volunteers are needed to give 60-minute presentations to parents on the following topics:
- Resume Writing, including content to include and proper grammar/etiquette
- Interview Preparation, including proper attire, networking advice, etc.
- Mock Interviews, including providing tips and practicing mock interviews with participants
The first 30 minutes will be for presenting while the final 30 minutes will be to answer questions, review resumes and practice additional mock interviews.
Refreshments will be provided and technology is available if needed. We recommend volunteers bring in resume templates, props, PPT, and activities for parents to engage in.
