Our purpose is to bring hope and happiness to every citizen in the Detroit and Metro Detroit area. The Gracias Christmas Cantata, which has now performed for over 1 million people, has toured across 29 different cities; from the Sydney Opera House in Australia to L.A to Detroit, to NYC, and everywhere in between in the U.S for the past 11 years. In addition, the award-winning Gracias Choir and Orchestra has now performed in the city of Detroit for the past 10 years, from the Fillmore Theater to the Masonic Temple and now the Fox Theatre.
Our mission again is simple: To bring joy and happiness to Michigan and to many people who may not be able to witness a LIVE orchestra concert of this magnitude, regardless of their financial background and status, as free tickets are readily available for the community.
We are seeking volunteers to serve as ushers for this event on Tuesday, September 20!
Ushers will arrive at 5:00pm to receive a brief orientation and will help greet and seat attendees. Volunteers may then stay for the concert, which begins at 7:00pm (with special seating!). A volunteer's family may join them for the concert. Volunteers will also receive dinner, a t-shirt, and a certificate for their volunteer hours.
