Description

Internship Title: Community Outreach, Resources & Assessment Intern

About Us: A Servant’s Heart Community is a faith-based organization in the Washtenaw County area that brings together churches, residents, and other local grassroot organizations to help vulnerable communities thrive. Their localized outreach focus includes community projects like healthy aging initiatives, community gardens, park enhancements, and support networks addressing homelessness.

About the Mobile Clinic Initiative: The recent closure of the West Willow Clinic removed the area’s only healthcare  anchor, deepening existing health disparities in a neighborhood ranked in the lowest opportunity tier  across all 19 Washtenaw County Opportunity Index indicators. For 12-18-months, the West Willow  Mobile Clinic Initiative will create rotating mobile “pop-up” clinics to preserve access to preventive,  routine, and urgent care in the neighborhood until a permanent facility is established.

Internship Overview

The Community Outreach, Resources & Feedback Intern will help connect residents with clinic information, local services, and opportunities to share their experiences. This intern will work alongside community partners to support outreach, keep resource information up to date, gather feedback from residents and partners, and help tell the story of the clinic’s impact. This Intern will help make sure residents know about the clinic, can find the resources they need, and have a voice in shaping the work. This is a hands-on role for a student who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and supporting community-based health and wellness efforts.

Create and update community outreach materials, including flyers, text message templates, social media posts, and newsletter blurbs.

Support resident and partner communication before and after clinic events.

Track attendance, feedback themes, referral needs, and basic outcome indicators.

Draft brief impact summaries for internal use, funders, community partners, or future grant applications.

Secondary projects as time permits: Research small local grants or sponsorship opportunities; draft resident or partner spotlight stories; update donor, volunteer, or partner records; create simple health education graphics using approved content; organize photos, testimonials, or communications assets; review outreach materials for readability and accessibility.

Key Projects/Deliverables
