United Way for Southeastern Michigan is partnering with the Kresge Foundation and the Detroit Parks Coalition to expand access to literacy resources and beautify parks across Detroit by installing Storybook Trails and Little Free Libraries.
Volunteers are invited to join us at our kick off project on August 25, in honor of United Way's Day of Action! Taking place from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at O'Hair Park in Detroit, volunteers will:
- Mulch newly-planted trees throughout the park
- Stencil interactive activities onto park pathways
- Clear litter and debris throughout the park
A celebratory lunch will be served to all volunteers once the project has concluded.
