Position Summary

As a Client Supportive Services Volunteer, you will support the day-to-day operations of HAVEN’s Client Supportive Services team. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, people-centered, and passionate about creating spaces where survivors feel supported and seen. Volunteers in this role will provide both behind-the-scenes administrative support and have the opportunity to facilitate client-centered wellness workshops.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Client Support

  • Assist with organizing and closing client files in accordance with agency procedures.
  • Sort incoming mail and assist in notifying clients when they receive mail.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow trauma-informed communication practices.

Outreach & Engagement

  • Support the Client Outreach Coordinator with community partner engagement (e.g., assembling outreach materials, maintaining outreach contact lists).
  • Help prepare and distribute wellness items or resources to clients.

Workshop Facilitation

  • Help plan and co-facilitate client wellness and decompression activities, such as:
    • Vision board workshops
    • Guided journal sessions
    • Game nights or arts-based activities
    • Other creative or restorative workshops based on volunteer interests and skills
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment during all client engagement activities.
  • Ensure all materials are set up, cleaned up, and stored properly.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Completion of HAVEN’s 24-hour Core Skills & Values training.
