Are you passionate about creating safe, healthy communities and supporting young people and survivors of violence? HAVEN’s Prevention Education (PE) team is looking for dedicated volunteers to join us in delivering meaningful programs and events. Volunteers may choose one or multiple roles based on their interests and availability, and these roles may adapt if needed.

1. Facilitate K–12 School-Based Programming

  • Deliver interactive, age-appropriate lessons on body safety, healthy relationships, and violence prevention to youth from Kindergarten to high school.
  • Receive training on our established curricula and always attend presentations accompanied by HAVEN staff.
  • Requires weekday availability during school hours from approximately October – April.

2. Co-Facilitate Professional Trainings

  • Support trainings for systems professionals and workplaces on topics such as screening for intimate partner and sexual violence, supporting survivors, and building safe workplaces.
  • Receive training on established HAVEN curricula and always be paired with HAVEN staff as co-facilitators.
  • Requires primarily weekday availability, with occasional evening or weekend events.

3. Prevention Education Administrative Support

  • Assist behind the scenes with essential tasks such as data entry and maintaining program files.
  • Create and test program evaluations to track changes in audience awareness and attitudes.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining research tables to inform HAVEN’s programming.
  • Flexible scheduling available.

4. Summer Camp Counselor

  • Serve as a counselor for our 4-day summer day camp, offered to our clients’ children.
  • Play games, chaperone field trips, and coordinate efforts with volunteer groups providing programming.
  • Requires availability during camp dates – typically late June/early July.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Completion of HAVEN’s 24-hour Core Skills & Values training.
