Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)? The Washtenaw Association for Community Advocacy (WACA) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our board of directors and support our mission of empowering people with I/DD to participate fully in community life. As the only nonprofit organization in Washtenaw County specifically focused on advocacy for people with I/DD and their families, WACA has been serving our community for over 75 years!


We are in the process of expanding our board and are especially interested in candidates who have experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Person with intellectual/developmental disability: Are you an adult living with an I/DD in Washtenaw County? Your experience and voice are essential in shaping our advocacy work!
  • Parent/sibling of a person with I/DD: Your experience and perspective are needed to inform our understanding the needs and goals of people with I/DD and their families.
  • Fundraising/Financial experience: Do you have experience in fundraising/development or financial management? Your experience will help us secure necessary resources to support our work and ensure sound financial oversight of Washtenaw ACA.
