We are partnering with the Detroit Pistons to put on a clinic-style basketball jamboree for students at Playworks partner schools in the Metro Detroit area. This event is free for students, and Playworks is anticipating about 200 participants at the event.
The purpose of our jamboree is to provide a safe, fun and supportive environment for players of all skill levels to learn the game of basketball. Our goal is to teach our players basic skills, teamwork and good sporting behavior. To accomplish these goals we need all coaches, players, referees, team managers and families to help create a fun and healthy sports culture for our youth.
We're looking for volunteers to help with set up and tear down of the event. Tasks include organizing tables; registering students; handing out t-shirts, snacks, and equipment; and more.
