Position Summary
As a Client Supportive Services Volunteer, you will support the day-to-day operations of HAVEN’s Client Supportive Services team. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, people-centered, and passionate about creating spaces where survivors feel supported and seen. Volunteers in this role will provide both behind-the-scenes administrative support and have the opportunity to facilitate client-centered wellness workshops.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Client Support
- Assist with organizing and closing client files in accordance with agency procedures.
- Sort incoming mail and assist in notifying clients when they receive mail.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow trauma-informed communication practices.
Outreach & Engagement
- Support the Client Outreach Coordinator with community partner engagement (e.g., assembling outreach materials, maintaining outreach contact lists).
- Help prepare and distribute wellness items or resources to clients.
Workshop Facilitation
- Help plan and co-facilitate client wellness and decompression activities, such as:
- Vision board workshops
- Guided journal sessions
- Game nights or arts-based activities
- Other creative or restorative workshops based on volunteer interests and skills
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment during all client engagement activities.
- Ensure all materials are set up, cleaned up, and stored properly.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completion of HAVEN’s 24-hour Core Skills & Values training.
