Description

Are you passionate about mental health advocacy and interested in shaping public policy? Join Authentic Headspace as a Public Policy Volunteer and play a key role in advocating for better mental health policies at the local and state levels. This is a fantastic opportunity for students and individuals interested in public policy, political science, or law to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector while making a meaningful contribution to mental health advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze existing mental health policies and their impact on students and communities.

  • Develop and draft policy recommendations that align with the mission of Authentic Headspace.

  • Assist in creating and implementing advocacy strategies to influence policy changes.

  • Collaborate with the team to focus on state legislation, including House Bill 5276 and Senate Bill 29, or propose additional bills aligned with our mission for further exploration.

  • Attend monthly in-person meetings on Saturdays for one-hour at the ICC Education Center to discuss progress, share insights, and strategize next steps. Our first meeting is 1/25!

By joining this role, you’ll not only develop valuable research and advocacy skills but also contribute directly to initiatives that can bring about meaningful change in mental health policy. Whether you're conducting research, crafting compelling arguments, or helping to shape our approach to advocacy, your work will have a lasting impact on our community.

Become a part of our movement for mental health equity today!
