Hustle for Housing is a rally aimed to demand affordable housing solutions quickly from the local government in Ann Arbor and to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness in Washtenaw County. Housing is a human right, not a commodity. In the absence of new housing developments and without investing in current properties, existing developments will deteriorate, worsening living conditions, leading to safety hazards for current residents. Covid-19 raised awareness about just how fragile homeless shelters and the rental market are and how great the need is for affordable housing.
