Participating in a community can take many forms. Elections are a way to affect social change for those eligible to vote. Election day is November 8th which can be an opportunity to connect your service interests with your voting decisions. As part of a campus-wide coalition working together to increase voter participation, the Ginsberg Center encourages eligible voters to learn more at UMich Votes

In addition, the Ann Arbor City Clerk will be at the UMMA until election day to assist students, who are eligible to vote, with registering to vote, requesting an absentee ballot, or casting an early vote. To find more information about this event and hours, check out here.

Voting is one action included under the Policy & Governance pathways to Civic Engagement. Individuals can also engage in student governance, declare a Public Policy minor, or attend a town hall. All opportunities can be a way to make a lasting impact in the communities we are a part of. Much of Connect2Community is connected to Direct Service, but there are many ways to get involved in voting rights and advocacy on campus and in the community.
