Who We Are

We are are small church that does “Big” things.  We are located on the west side of Detroit where everyone is welcome. We believe in loving everyone as we love ourselves and treating everyone with respect and integrity.  We currently have an open community garden, lending library, clothes closet, emergency food pantry and a Toiletry pantry.  We also have a Boardwalk on Broadstreet which is a community gathering spot for the community.  We have a Butterfly Garden that will be expanded 2020.  The Boardwalk has a Solar Charging Station.  The community is able to charge electronic devices.  The capacity will be 12 devices at one time.  Everyone is always welcome.  We provide lunch after our 10:30 church service to everyone.

What We Do

We provide resources in different capacities.  During the spring and summer months, our Community garden is open to the community.  We provide educational classes in the Garden on growing techniques.  We grow a variety of organic vegetables each year that are available to the community.  We are planning to have a Farmers Market in 2020.  In the Fall we provide tutoring to grades K-9.  Our tutoring program will resume Saturday, October 19. 2019.  The hours are noon - 2:00 p.m. Our focus is Reading and Math.  We are looking to adopt a First Grade class to ge them Reading Ready.  Public Act 306 of 2016 states in part if a child cannot read by Third Grade the child will be held back.  The need is great in the community. If we can capture the children in the First Grade it gives the children a better opportunity of succeeding as they move to the next grade.
