The Brides Project
Mission: To contribute to valuable and remarkable causes through the sale of donated bridal gowns.
The Brides Project (TBP) opened in September 2011. TBP is a fundraising initiative of the Cancer Support Community. This unique project is staffed by volunteers and dedicated to raising funds for free programs for families impacted by cancer at the Cancer Support Community (CSC) of Greater Ann Arbor through the sale of donated bridal gowns.
Our inspiration to start this project came to us from Helen Sweet, who started The Brides Project in Canada. She graciously allowed us to take this idea to the United States.
Our vision is to celebrate love and life by offering an alternative way to support cancer charities. We strive to be a community that enables every bride to both own a beautiful wedding gown and contribute to the brave fight against cancer. Our long-term goal is to expand our reach and help more cancer patients and their families, turning every wedding gown into a beacon of hope and love.
Pre-worn gowns donated by brides or unsold gowns donated by bridal shops are available for brides-to-be to purchase at a considerable savings. We aim to help brides find their dream wedding dress at an affordable price while making a vital impact. The funds acquired from these sales are used to contribute to cancer charities, uniting the joy of weddings with the valor of cancer survivors.
We offer a unique shopping experience in our boutique in Ann Arbor. Our gowns are very high quality and are offered at 50 percent or more below market prices. Because we are a volunteer-run organization, we meet with brides by appointment only. Our bridal consultants will work with brides to find just the dress for them!
