Who We Are

The Minority Freedom Community Fund is a Black-led and founded national intermediary nonprofit organization. Our mission is to improve the lives of African Americans and minorities in the United States of America through a multifaceted approach that includes providing capital infusions, supporting existing social infrastructure, and promoting holistic wellness. Founded in 2019, MFCF works at the intersection of philanthropy, community leadership, and systems building. We are led by members of the communities we serve and operate with a strong emphasis on governance, accountability, and sustainable growth. We believe meaningful change requires both passion and structure. Our volunteers, board members, and partners help build the infrastructure that ensures our impact is lasting and measurable.

What We Do

The Minority Freedom Community Fund (MFCF) strengthens and sustains Black-led and minority-serving efforts across the United States. We deploy capital, provide technical assistance, and reinforce existing social infrastructure so community leaders, small nonprofits, and grassroots initiatives can operate with greater stability and impact. Our work includes grantmaking, fiscal sponsorship, leadership development, youth engagement, and convenings that connect donors and doers. We focus on building durable systems, not one-time interventions, ensuring that communities have the resources, structure, and support needed to thrive long term. Through our national network and our physical hub at Aya House in Detroit, we advance holistic wellness, economic empowerment, and institutional strength in communities that have historically been underinvested.
