Who We Are

U-M Health is home to one of the largest health care complexes in Michigan. It has been the site of many groundbreaking medical and technological advancements since the Medical School first opened in 1850. Our Mission: To advance health to serve Michigan and the world. Our Vision: Our discoveries change care; our care changes lives.

What We Do

From the main hospital campus to clinics and health centers across the region, U-M Health volunteers provide direct support for our patients, families, and care providers. They also support our research labs, assist with clerical tasks, and help in the delivery of our community outreach programs such as Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels, Turner Senior Resource Center, and FRIENDS Gift Shops. Volunteers also provide support for non-clinical therapies including Gifts of Art and Healing Butterfly Garden.
