Who We Are

Mission: To empower and unite the residents of North Central Detroit.

The North Central Block Club Association (NCBCA) was founded in 2010 by Dr. Cheryl Moore. As a neighborhood resident she organized the block club to prevent her neighborhood from further increase of blight and crime.

What We Do

NCBCA is a 501c(3), community development nonprofit, devoted to hearing, identifying and addressing the needs of the community. Our endeavors aim to assemble residents and coordinate their efforts toward neighborhood revitalization, development and fostering unity throughout the community. Our projects have become a labor of love for residents and volunteers who continuously work to advocate the mission and vision to improve the blocks that connect us. Having completed beautification initiatives at each park within the association boundaries and completed several other artistic and innovation projects the excitement only continues as we continue to embark on many more cutting edge, innovative initiatives that promote neighborhood revitalization, development and community synergy. The association aims to address a wide range of community development needs by improving housing, ensuring suitable living environments, and expanding economic opportunities.
