Who We Are
Our Story The Austin Foundation began with small acts of kindness shown by Southwest Detroit pioneers William and Sandra Austin. They worked relentlessly to instill values of kindness, compassion, and service in the community. We hope to set an example for future generations through similar acts, educational programs, and outreach initiatives to honor their legacy and continue their work. Mission Our mission is to provide educational resources, services, and programs that will innovate, empower, and engage the community for a brighter future. Vision Our vision is to eradicate the educational barriers that impede excellence so that all individuals can equally participate in today's modern society.
What We Do
The Austin Foundation uses the funds raised in concession stands to support our Art-Ventures Program for middle and high students. We are currently in Comerica Park, Ford Field, UM athletics & MSU athletics. A percentage of the money raised at each concession goes towards the foundation. We are also in the process of working on our literacy program, so volunteers will be able to participate in that if they are interested in the future
