Who We Are
Mission: To offer affordable, constructive, restorative and healing approaches to conflict resolution for the residents of Washtenaw and Livingston counties.
The Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) is a nonprofit organization serving Washtenaw and Livingston counties in Michigan. Since 1983, we have been committed to fostering peaceful communities by providing accessible, affordable, and restorative approaches to conflict resolution. As one of Michigan’s 18 Community Dispute Resolution Programs (CDRPs), we work with individuals, families, schools, and businesses to address conflicts constructively and promote healing.
What We Do
At the DRC, we offer a range of services designed to help individuals and communities navigate and resolve conflicts:
- Mediation Services: Our trained mediators facilitate conversations between parties to help them reach mutually agreeable solutions in various contexts, including family disputes, landlord-tenant issues, and small claims.
- Restorative Justice Programs: We provide restorative justice services that focus on repairing harm and restoring relationships, particularly in schools and juvenile cases.
- Training and Education: We offer training programs for individuals interested in becoming mediators or restorative justice facilitators, as well as workshops for organizations seeking to incorporate these practices.
