Who We Are

Our mission is to build a volunteer-based nonprofit, that creates a culture of individuals who are educated on civic responsibility and encouraged to use their unique abilities, as well as natural and local resources to create a lifestyle that empowers their community to become sustainable and whole as a social entity.

Our vision at S.E.E.D. Now is to encourage each person to develop their physical, mental, social and economic tools to assist in balancing their current situation through educational, holistic wrap around services and volunteer based programming provided through a vast network of community organizations, sponsors and community partnership.

Our goal is to create a volunteer based social culture within communities designed to consistently engage the community on civic responsibilities by educating and encouraging individuals on volunteerism and sustainability allowing them to cultivate personal and communal resources that will create a lifestyle free of resistance, free thinking and positive living while applying knowledge and tools to build a stable and functioning community.

S.E.E.D. Now is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) started by Brittney Record and her family in 2015. They noticed how so many changes were happening in the city of Detroit yet the resources for long time residents remained slim. They were creating a better Detroit however no one was interested in creating better Detroiters. As they began to dive deep into the issues they noticed not only was there a lack of resources but a lack of knowledge across the board. They began to ask the question: how can people do better if they don't know better? It was then they became dedicated to planting seeds of knowledge that grow into large communities of people who tap into their natural talents and use the resources around them to sustain no matter their social status.

What We Do

The first program is S.E.E.D. Feeds, who over the past year has distributed close to 55,000 boxes of food, thousands of pieces of PPE, Kids coats and much more.

The second program is Jobs Without Barriers where S.E.E.D. Now will provide educational resources and training to community residents with a special focus on returning citizens so that they can have the necessary tools to be productive members of society with livable wages and an elevation in economic class.

The third program is Healthy Connections that connects the mind, body and soul. Providing access to counseling to get the community in a healthy state of mind, fitness instruction and nutrition education for the body which in turn will help heal the soul.
