Communities First, Inc. is a Flint-based nonprofit community development corporation with a mission to build healthy, vibrant communities through economic development, affordable housing, and innovative programming. Started in 2010 by Glenn and Essence Wilson, the organization has grown from its Flint roots to impact Detroit and Saginaw, Michigan as well as Gary, Indiana. By taking a holistic approach to their community development work, CFI is able to effect positive and lasting change. Communities First, Inc. engages more than 25,000 people each year through its programs and activities.
