Who We Are

Mission: To educate, engage, entertain and inspire through the power of public media.

Detroit PBS is Michigan’s only community-licensed public television station, operating independently of any educational institution or governmental entity. With more than 2 million viewers each week across four TV channels, Detroit PBS has the most diverse public television audience in the country.

What We Do

As a member station of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), we provide locally produced content and national PBS programs covering news, arts and culture, science, history, and children’s education. Additionally, we operate 90.9 WRCJ FM, Detroit’s classical and jazz radio station, enhancing the community’s access to cultural and artistic programming. Dedicated to serving diverse interests, we are committed to our role as a valuable community resource.
