Volunteer: Crisis Intervention VolunteerWe are looking for volunteers to help on our Crisis Line. We are looking for volunteers to serve on our 24/7 crisis line to assist youth, parents, and other community services that are in crisis or need to be connected to Ozone House or other community resources. We ask that if you volunteer, you agree to serve for at least 8 months/2 semesters as a crisis line counselor covering at least one shift a week. Some topics we are looking to cover include: Job Assistance Financial Assistance/Money Management Utilizing Community Resources (medical, mental/emotional, etc.) Diabetes Management Smoking Cessation Personal Safety etc. We want presenters to be knowledgeable enough about the topics that they are well-equipped for any follow-up questions with clients, so we are looking for people/organizations that have a professional background or license in the respective topic. We are looking for new or gently used items to decorate the shelter homes. Our goal is to decorate the shelters to give them a warm homey feel. We want our shelters to feel very welcoming, safe and happy; homeless families typically move 5-6 times before securing stable housing.
