Volunteer: Social Media Marketing Intern For Malnutrition Treatment and Family Preservation Center in Haiti

We are a small, faith-based non-profit working to alleviate severe acute malnutrition— and address some of the causes that lead to it— in the country of Haiti. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Social Media/Marketing intern who can help us communicate and connect with our donor base, which is primarily in the U.S. This position will be fully remote and can be done from anywhere that has reliable internet access. Hours are flexible (you can work on your own schedule), but ideally we’re looking for a commitment of 5-10 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. .

As a nonprofit organization working internationally, most of our donors will never have the opportunity to see our mission in person, so it’s vitally important to make sure that our supporters are involved and kept up to date on what is happening on the ground in Haiti. Social media has become our main form of communication with our donors to share stories and raise money to fund our programs. We have a very active social media calendar with multiple campaigns throughout the year and several monthly newsletters and emails to plan and design. 

 

As a Social Media Marketing intern for Middle Ground, you will get to have your hands in multiple exciting projects that make a direct and lasting impact on the lives of the children and families we work withs. Although the day-to-day work you will do does not take place on the ground in Haiti, the result of this role is truly the backbone of our ability to fund and run our programs. It is only with the support that comes from a strong and engaging social media presence thatwe can offer programs that truly save lives and change the future of countless children and their families in Haiti.

As a Social Media Marketing intern, you will work closely with our staff in Haiti to create social media content that shares the stories of children and families in our programs. You will also have a role in planning and gathering information for newsletters, and assisting in brainstorming and executing new and exciting fundraising initiatives. Your core responsibilities are well scheduled, but you will have opportunities to do something different nearly every day as you dive into our various programs and events!

Social Media Intern Responsibilities:

Donor communications and engagement  Assist in managing and creating content across social media platforms Assist in planning and executing in-person and virtual fundraising events Develop and design fundraising and marketing materials Analyze analytics to gauge the success of social media content and fundraising campaigns Manage ad campaigns through Google Ads Grants and Facebook Ads

This is a virtual volunteer opportunity that can be performed from anywhere.

Our ideal candidate is an individual who:

Enjoys the adventure of working on multiple projects  Has working knowledge of the major content management systems and social media analytics Is experienced in running targeted ads on social media sites Is well organized and pays attention to details  Is a visionary who can hold the goals and big picture in mind Has an in-depth knowledge of various social media platforms Is an excellent writer with strong communication skills Is independent, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised to meet goals and deadlines Is comfortable creating and managing multiple social media accounts and developing content to inform, educate and engage our donors to increase awareness, boost traffic and achieve marketing and fundraising goals. Is proficient in graphic design programs like Canva, Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator
