Description

The Area Agency on Aging 1-B Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) is looking for dedicated volunteers to help Washtenaw County's over 49,000 Medicare beneficiaries. MMAP Counselors are trained to answer questions regarding Medicare, compare insurance options, provide information on programs that assist with the cost of healthcare, assist with denial of equipment or services, identify and report healthcare fraud and assist with billing issues. If you are seeking a challenge, then this opportunity might be just what you are looking for.

We request a commitment of a minimum of one year and an average of 12 hrs per month service. Training includes: orientation, 10-hour online training, 3-day in-person training and update trainings throughout the year. Proficiency with the computer and internet is required. Volunteers are required to provide a copy of their driver's license and consent to a background check as part of the application.
