What better way to start the new year than with a Big Ol’ Bonfire, plus volunteering for nature? Start the afternoon with an orientation to the special nature at Fox Science Preserve. Then, work for an hour or two “bulldozing” invasive shrubs to restore this amazing example of primary succession (which you’ll learn all about). Finally, celebrate your hard work with a GIANT bonfire, burning slash built up across a year’s worth of restoration efforts. We’ll even crack out supplies for s’more making! Snacks, gloves, and water provided (bring your own water bottle).
