Towne Center Garden Support

Description

Join us for a hands-on volunteer day at Towne Center Community Garden, located at a senior living facility in Ypsilanti. This garden is designed to provide residents with a beautiful, accessible outdoor space for relaxation, connection, and growing fresh produce. With your help, we’re preparing the garden beds for a productive season ahead!

We’ll be adding compost to existing raised beds, and possibly some weeding. Expect a lot of shoveling, wheelbarrow work, and some heavy lifting—great for folks who like to break a sweat and see immediate results.

We’ll have tools and gloves available, but feel free to bring your own shovel, pitchfork, or wheelbarrow if you have a favorite. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or just want to help out your community, your time and energy will directly support a space that brings joy and food to senior residents.

We will meet at the Growing Hope Urban Farm to shovel compost into buckets and then travel the very short distance to Towne Center. Volunteers must provide their own transportation.
