Hello! Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Urban Neighborhood Initiatives! We are seeking 10-15 volunteers to join us as we begin the process of moving our Southwest Rides Bike Shop, a youth-led bike shop, out of our current location! We are beginning the moving process into our new building soon and we need your help! Join us on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 as we get started! Address is 1824 Springwell St. Detroit, MI 48209 (Southwest Detroit).
Volunteers and staff can expect the following:
- Sorting through used bikes
- Throwing away trash/unwanted items
- Transporting supplies and materials to the shipping container
- General cleaning
- Packing up bicycle parts
- Moving large furniture
- Transporting items back to our center (Driving)
- & more!
In an effort to keep our volunteers, staff and residents safe, we kindly ask that everyone wears a mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be given to you upon arrival. We also ask that you dress in layers, as we know, Michigan's weather is unpredictable!
