Whether you’re picnicking, hiking, or paddling by, Furstenberg has a lot of wildlife to appreciate. Native plants are a cornerstone to natural communities, allowing insects, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and other organisms to thrive. At this workday we will be collecting wild seeds from native plants—an easy, all-ages activity that is educational, while at the same time provisioning future restoration efforts. We will also be using handsaws and loppers to cut and remove invasive shrubs. Meet us at the parking lot off Fuller Rd. (map).
Pre-registration through VolunteerHub is encouraged; please stay home if you are feeling ill. NAP continues to monitor recommendations from health officials, volunteers registered for events will be notified in advance of any changes to the workday. Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes and bring a water bottle and leather gloves. All minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools and know-how provided. Register here.
