Description

On April 27th from 10am-12pm, Legacy Land Conservancy will be leading a workday at Beckwith Preserve. Join us to help plant native trees in an effort to improve Michigan’s water quality.

Volunteers (using flat point shovels and dibble bars) will be planting bare root saplings and installing protective tree tubes around them throughout the preserve.

Please dress for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Pants and closed toe shoes are a must, regardless of the temperature, to protect from poison ivy and getting scratched up while working outside.

Legacy will provide a limited number of long handle planting spades and dibble bars, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own shovels as well. We will have work gloves available as well, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have a pair you like.

Don’t forget a water bottle and sunscreen. We also suggest you bring bug spray to reduce the risk of exposure to ticks and other biting insects. Meet at the parking lot off M-106 on the east side of Stockbridge, located at 2792 E M 106, Stockbridge, MI 49285.
