Join Us as the Accelerate4KIDS Community Fundraising Intern!

Are you ready to make a real impact while gaining invaluable experience in the nonprofit sector? We’re thrilled to announce an exciting paid internship opportunity with Accelerate4KIDS, where you’ll develop a diverse skill set in fundraising and community engagement!

As our Community Fundraising Intern, you will dive into the dynamic world of online fundraising, specifically designed to enhance our virtual Rocket Challenge this August. You will explore innovative online campaign strategies, master social media promotion, and engage donors in meaningful ways. This role is not just about learning; it’s about taking charge! You'll enhance your project management skills by planning and executing fundraising initiatives while boosting your communication and marketing abilities through the creation of captivating promotional materials.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and implementing digital fundraising campaigns that inspire community participation
  • Crafting engaging social media content to promote the Rocket Challenge and reach a wider audience
  • Managing outreach effort to families and community groups to attract participants and build excitement
  • Coordinating virtual registration processes and tracking donations to ensure a smooth operation
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with participants and sponsors to foster strong relationships
  • Organizing virtual activities and workshops that enhance participant experience
  • Evaluating the event’s success through participant feedback and fundraising metrics to inform future initiatives
  • Attending virtual and in-person meetings for strategic planning and successful team execution

This internship will focus on developing a comprehensive fundraising plan and marketing strategy aimed at raising an ambitious $50,000 through donations and matching funds. By engaging with the community and leveraging outreach strategies, you will build partnerships that encourage participation from customers and staff alike. Your efforts will contribute to creating equitable educational opportunities for children in under-resourced communities, ensuring every child has access to the resources they need for success in STEM fields.

We are looking for enthusiastic students majoring in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or Communication that can work at least 20 hours/week (part-time) starting July 1, 2025 to August 31, 2025. Through our partnership with University of Michigan's Ginsberg Community-Based Internship Fund, you will receive competitive hourly wages aligned with the Ginsberg Center’s guidelines:

  • $16/hr for undergraduate students
  • $18/hr for master’s students
  • $20/hr for doctoral students

If you’re ready to embark on this exciting journey and make a difference, we want to hear from you! Please submit your updated resume and cover letter to thanh@Accelerate4KIDS.org.

Join us in empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders!
