Join SMLC for an Earth Day cleanup of the Allen Woods Nature Preserve in Taylor.
This urban preserve is a hot spot and stopover for migrating birds and wildlife. It has some great hardwood swamp habitat with beech-maple forests and large sycamores. Unfortunately the location is prone to dumping. We'll be helping the environment by removing trash from the preserve.
We'll meet at the end of Worthington Drive just west of Allen Road. SMLC will provide gloves, trash pickers and bags, water, snacks, and training. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and close-toed shoes.
Note: this preserve has standing water in the spring. Waterproof rain boots are highly recommended!
