Victory Garden Volunteer | Staebler Farm County Park, Superior Township | Year-Round Staebler Farm County Park has a Victory Garden that is looking to be re-energized by MULTIPLE VOLUNTEERS to help support the Teaching Kitchen at the Michigan Folk School. Victory Gardens, also known as war gardens or food gardens for defense, were vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens planted at private residences and public parks during World War I and II. SPRING: 8-10 hours a week* Clean-up garden beds, getting them ready for planting.
SUMMER: 3-4 hours a week* Maintenance of the garden, including harvesting crops grown.
FALL: 1-2 hours a week* Maintenance of the garden, including harvesting crops grown. Pest monitoring.
WINTER: Hours project-based Garden Maintenance and planning.
