This is a hands-on, high-impact role that supports literacy, choice, and excitement around reading. Volunteer: Delivery PersonWe are the Metro Detroit Book Bank. We are looking for someone to volunteer their time 2-3x a month to deliver books using our 5x8 enclosed trailer to schools that we are giving books away at in the Metro Detroit area. The books would be packed up already and we would have students at the school help unload the boxes of books at the school. There will be one delivery a month to the recycling center in Royal Oak. Again, the trailer will be packed up and your role will be unloading boxes of books into a large box (called a gaylord). A total of 4 times a month maximum will be needed!
