Volunteer: New Parkridge After School Tutoring

Join our Resident Service Coordinator, Christa Hughbanks in leading our after school tutoring program 3-5pm M, Tu, W at our New Parkridge community. Preschool-5yr old activities are from 4:30-5:30pm and all ages are welcome from 4-5pm. Activities are varied by week but for preschool age, typically include fine motor skill development, creative expression, cognitive/emotional development. For school age children, backpack checks, homework help, social emotional learning, crafts, and more. There is plenty of parking on-site in front of the Amos Washington building as well as a nearby bus stop. Volunteers will be asked to complete a confidentiality form, emergency contact form, and DHS form 1929/central registry clearance. Once these forms are complete, Ms. Hughbanks will meet with you one on one for 30 minutes prior to starting tutoring to provide an overview of the program.

Volunteer: Sauk Trail Pointe Food Pantry Assistance

Help us set up and execute our food pantry at Sauk Trail Pointe! The pantry is typically on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. Food typically arrives from Food Gatherers at 9:30am, it is unloaded and set up in the community room til the pantry opens around 11am and runs til 2pm, or everything has been distributed. We could use your help unloading, organizing the food that is received, displaying food, checking residents in, walking residents through the pantry, and loading food into cars and delivering to nearby homes.
