Volunteer: Volunteer Position: Free Clinic Board of Directors TreasurerDetroit VITALS (Virtual Intersystem Telemedicine and Lifestyle Services) free clinic is seeking volunteers to apply for the Board of Directors Treasurer position for our organization! The Treasurer shall be a director of the free clinic and shall report the clinic financial status to the Board of Directors at each regular meeting. The Treasurer shall work closely with any board or committee member of Detroit VITALS to ascertain that the appropriate procedures are being followed in the financial affairs of the Corporation. The Treasurer shall perform such other duties as requested and assigned by the Board of Directors such as managing the Board’s review of, and action related to, the board’s financial responsibilities, managing the finances of Detroit VITALS, administration of fiscal matters for Detroit VITALS and providing the annual budget to the Board for approval. The Treasurer is also responsible for providing the Board with reports regarding key financial events, trends, concerns, and assessment of fiscal health. The Treasurer will also recommend to the board whether the organization should have an audit, and if so, will select and meet with the auditor. Lastly, if the Board President, Vice President and Secretary are unable to perform the duties of the Board President the Treasurer shall assume the role of Board President. Term limits will likely initially be one to three years. We are looking for persons with one of the following: extensive leadership experience, demonstrated success as a committee chair or board member, and/or experience in building nonprofit sectors.
All board of directors will be expected to follow the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions. They will also be required to sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and update it during the year if necessary, as well as disclose potential conflicts before meetings and actual conflicts during meetings. Lastly, all board of directors will be required to maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of Detroit VITALS free clinic.

Volunteer: Volunteer Online - Looking for Volunteers and Pioneers for New Telemedicine Project!We are looking for any and all individuals to assist in the creation of a novel new Telemedicine Project called Detroit VITALS free clinic (Virtual Intersystem Telemedicine And Lifestyle Services)! We are looking for any and all level of interest at this point and from any/all career perspectives ranging from Social Work, Information technology to Health care and Allied professions. We are very much looking for other Physicians and Health Providers who may be interested in volunteering for a few hours or more a month from the safety of your home! We are also strongly interested in Social workers and Mental health therapists or Psychiatrists. All appointments, meetings and interventions will be done online and can be done from the safety of your home. Safety is our number one priority while still providing access to Healthcare. At Detroit VITALS, we believe Healthcare is not a privilege but a right and we need your help to make this a reality!! Our goal will be to start providing primary care and limited specialty services by the end of winter of 2022 to persons without health insurance in Wayne, Washtenaw and Oakland counties (Metro-Detroit). We will start teaching and working with volunteers likely prior to the end of 2022. Shifts are still being worked out in conjunction with operating hours which are subject to change. Currently, there will be expected 1 shift per month and 1 shift as a back up person. Tentatively the clinic (when open) will be seeing patients from 5 pm to 8 pm hours Tuesday thru Thursday (3 hour shifts). If interested in working with the planning committee prior to our Grand opening this Fall/winter of 2022 please see the planning committee opportunity as well. We will continue to be holding weekly meetings at Wednesday evenings on Zoom to create content and plan for the grand opening of the Detroit VITALS free telemedicine clinic! General planning committee meetings will be one hour per week and members will be expected hour contributions are 3-5 hours per week on average currently with select committees (Networking, Educational Content, Workflow, Social Media, Website development, Advertising and Human resources/volunteer management).
