Volunteer: Support Project TAKE-OUT with Jewish Senior Life

Although most local restaurants are open, many of our independent JSL residents enjoy take-out meals. To support small businesses and local restaurants as well as our community’s vulnerable older adults, FRIENDS of Jewish Senior Life proposes Project TAKE-OUT. Community members are encouraged to purchase gift cards at local restaurants, both Kosher and non, to donate to JSL residents. FRIENDS of Jewish Senior Life extends love, provides support and appreciates the community backing this new Project TAKE-OUT.

Jewish Senior Life residents will submit their names to be placed in a raffle. The raffle will be maintained by FRIENDS of Jewish Senior Life Director, Leslie Katz. Community members will purchase gift cards from both Kosher and non-kosher local restaurants and deliver to Leslie Katz at Jewish Senior Life. Leslie Katz will hold a weekly raffle; the resident chosen will select between the gift cards available. Leslie will ensure delivery options are available whether from the restaurant or a volunteer. Once a resident’s name is chosen, their name will be removed from future raffle drawings. Project TAKE-OUT supports local restaurants, JSL residents, and gives our community members the opportunity to give to our most vulnerable members.
