Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers strives to help seniors and disabled adults preserve their independence by providing volunteer services to help them fill the gaps they need to remain living in their own homes. One of the services we offer is assistance with yardwork such as weeding, raking leaves, trimming shrubs, and more (not including cutting grass or shoveling snow) in Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair counties. Great groups or individuals to help with! 

Opportunities are very flexible, volunteers indicate what cities they want to help in, how often they want to help, and the best days/times they are available to volunteer and IVC only calls to ask about requests that match the volunteer's preferences.

One of the services we offer is minor home repairs such as fixing a leaky faucet, patching up a whole in the wall, fixing a toilet, or changing a light fixture just to name a few. 

Opportunities are very flexible, volunteers indicate what cities they want to help in, how often they want to help, their skillsets, and the best days/times they are available to volunteer and IVC only calls to ask about requests that match the volunteer's preferences. If the volunteer doesn't have the skillset for the task once they assess they job, they are not obligated to stay and help.

One of the services we offer is light housekeeping for those who are no longer to do it on their own. Volunteers assist with occasional light housekeeping such as dusting, vacuuming, dishes, laundry, and more.

One of the services we offer is assistance with getting groceries at the store and other essential errands. Clients request either having a volunteer come and pick up their grocery list and do the shopping for them (payment for groceries provided by client) or request for a volunteer to drive them to the store and help them while they shop in Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair Counties.

IVC receives a lot of generous donations of items that we utilize as raffle prizes and in silent auction baskets for our fundraising events. However, some items we receive may not be a good fit for either of these purposes, so we are in need of someone to volunteer some of their time to help post some of the items on a selling site like eBay or Facebook marketplace. Volunteer would need to have knowledge of these sites, be able to create an accurate description of the item, and be able to look up the fair market value of the items so to post at a fair price. Proceeds received for items will be used as donations to help grow our program. 

Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers tries its best to help seniors and disabled adults in the community by helping to fill needs or refer to other organizations that may be able to help them fill gaps they need to stay living independently in their own homes longer. Part of our ongoing mission to help others is doing review calls with the senior and disabled adult clients in our database to see if they have any needs or anything we can help with. Volunteer would need to be a good communicator on the phone, be able to type up notes for the conversation, and be able to relay urgent needs to staff. Training will be provided to the volunteer and would hopefully be able to assist on a weekly basis.

Our most requested service is transportation to important doctor appointments. Volunteers use their own vehicles to drive those who need transportation to and from doctors' appointments and other urgent appointments in Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair counties. 

Opportunities are flexible, volunteers decide what cities they want to drive to, how often they want to help, and the best days/times for them to volunteer, and IVC only calls to ask about those transportation requests that match the volunteer's preferences. Whether you can help with a ride once a week, once a month, or once a year-any time you can dedicate is greatly appreciated.
