Space is still available for high school girls to participate in a free conference, The Power of Girlhood’s UN International Day of the Girl, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 on ZOOM. The event is sponsored by HOUR Detroit and in collaboration with Motor City Woman.
Small groups will use their creativity, leadership and communications skills to create strategies for a topic of specific relevance to teenage girls, both locally and globally. Topics range from media portrayal to sex trafficking to mental health issues. Last year, more than 150 students participated.
The Power of Girlhood is a mobile leadership program for girls ages 8-18.
