Helping the Community with COVID-19 Response

As Michigan moves through the stages of reopening, some volunteer opportunities that cannot be completed maintaining safe social distance guidelines may not be available. Partners providing essential services related to the health and wellbeing of our most vulnerable community members still are in need of volunteers to support their efforts.  In addition, some partners may have remote opportunities that can be completed at home.  We are working to keep an updated list of COVID-19 response opportunities below.

How to Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to help the community out in uncertain times - this section will be evolving and growing as more non-profit partners figure out how volunteers can support them remotely. VIEW ALL OPPORTUNITIES HERE.

Food & Grocery Delivery

  1. Check out Saline Area Social Service's most pressing food needs here

Crisis Intervention

  1. Donate blood 
  2. Volunteer with the Washtenaw County Health Department medical reserve team
  3. Volunteer at Ypsilanti or Chelsea Vaccine Clinics

Virtual Volunteering

  1. Join the Michigan Vaccination Project - Help find vaccination appointments for Michigan residents! 
  2. Virtual Volunteering with Catchafire - Skilled volunteers can serve remotely from home through Catchafire. Specific COVID response opportunities are being populated here as nonprofits respond to the variety of challenges that are arising as result of the pandemic.

On Campus COVID-19 Response Volunteering

  1. Sign up for the voluntary COVID-19 Sampling & Tracking program
  2. Participate in a Michigan Medicine covid-19 related clinical trial
  3. Volunteer at Maize and Blue Cupboard's North Campus Food Distribution site, set up in response to COVID-19

Statewide Volunteering
