What Is Connect2Community?
Connect2Community is a volunteer portal hosted in collaboration with United Way of Washtenaw County to connect community members with organizations and volunteer opportunities. Over 270 community partners have registered their agencies on the portal, and we currently have over 6,100 volunteers registered. There are volunteer opportunities for every interest and capacity!
Create or Update Your Profile
As we kick off the academic year, we encourage students to create a profile on the portal or update their profile if they have already registered. Registration and updating will only take a few minutes and is the first step in entering community partnerships. Click here to find instructions on creating a profile. For those already registered, click here for instructions on updating your account. Once you have updated your account, take some time to follow specific volunteer interests or agencies that interest you.
Foundations of Community Engagement workshop
As you get ready to engage in the community, we invite you to attend a Foundations of Community Engagement workshop this fall. This interactive virtual workshop introduces principles and practices for thoughtfully engaging with communities, including motivations, the impact of social identities, and strategies for engaging in reciprocal, ethical, and respectful ways. The Foundations of Community Engagement workshop is a part of Ginsberg. The first workshop will be on September 22nd, 12 noon via Zoom, but we will also offer this workshop throughout the school year. To learn more about this workshop and to register, click the link here.
We wish you a great fall semester and hope to see you soon at a Ginsberg event or a service opportunity!
