Who We Are

Mission: To advance prevention, access to health care, community research, and advocacy.

Established in 1983 as Wellness Networks, Inc., AIDS Partnership Michigan was Michigan’s oldest AIDS service organization. APM was established to better address the emerging AIDS epidemic in the Metro Detroit area. AIDS Partnership Michigan had a long track record of providing education and services to help prevent the spread of HIV and to help connect people living with HIV to needed care and resources. The HIV/AIDS Resource Center (HARC) was founded in 1986 by a group of volunteers to provide HIV/AIDS related services to the people of Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, and Washtenaw counties. In its long history of providing prevention and care services, HARC developed into a leading HIV/AIDS service provider in Michigan.

In 2015, these two organizations brought together more than 60 years of experience and expertise together in a merger that created UNIFIED – HIV Health and Beyond. We are leading the way in creating a regional model for HIV and related care in Southeast Michigan.

What We Do

UNIFIED – HIV Health and Beyond (UHHB) is a regional HIV service organization reaching 10 counties in Southeast Michigan where 63% of people living with HIV in Michigan reside. UHHB offers a comprehensive range of HIV services that include outreach and education, counseling and testing, Hepatitis C testing, positive prevention, medical case management, mediation adherence counseling, behavioral health, tobacco reduction, health insurance outreach and enrollment, housing assistance, transportation, food pantry and support groups. UHHB has a mobile health unit that goes to a variety of locations within our service area to provide education, safer sex materials, HIV testing, Hepatitis C testing, and harm reduction services, including syringe access and overdose prevention. Volunteers at UHHB support these services by dedicating time in program areas, such as street outreach, counseling and testing, and other community and special events.
