Thank you for being so interested in volunteering with us at SafeHouse Center! We have a rich history of providing outstanding services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We work within the local community and help lead efforts to create a violence-free society. We are excited to invite you to join us in this work!
SafeHouse Center has two large umbrella groups of volunteer opportunities: Direct Services and Non-Direct Services.
- Direct Services consist of four programs that offer volunteers the opportunity to work directly with survivors and their children. All of these programs involve crisis intervention work.
- Non-Direct Services consist of two positions that offer volunteers opportunities to interact with community members and donors.
Please feel free to look through our volunteer opportunities and information at Volunteer Opportunities & Training. All Volunteers must attend CORE Training & Program Training.
We highly encourage any potential volunteers to join us for our monthly information session to learn more about our services, opportunities and available volunteer roles.
Please note that all volunteers are required to abide by SafeHouse Center’s Confidentiality and Security Policy and Core Values.
To apply for any program, please complete an application at SafeHouse Center Volunteer Application, which includes a criminal background check, interview, and mandatory training. If you need assistance or accommodations in completing the application, please get in touch with the Volunteer, Intern, and Speaker’s Bureau at (734) 973-0242 or volunteer@safehousecenter.org
PLEASE NOTE that placement in the volunteer program is contingent upon many factors, including the application, interview process, successful completion of training, and adherence to all policies and procedures outlined in the position description, training, and our volunteer handbook. Both placement and continued engagement of any volunteer is at the discretion of SafeHouse.
