Melvindale Thrive Initiative provides community-based programs, resources, and support for children, teens, families, seniors, disabled residents, veterans, and neighbors in Melvindale and the surrounding Downriver area. Our work includes youth leadership, arts and STEAM enrichment, literacy programs, nutrition support, safety education, family resources, volunteer coordination, donation drives, senior and disabled resident support, veteran resource connections, neighborhood beautification, community cleanups, future neighborhood garden programming, holiday and seasonal support, farmers market planning, and community welcome/resource packets.
Our community welcome packets and resource navigator support will help connect residents with local programs, veteran resources, senior services, disability resources, food assistance, housing support, utility assistance, safety information, youth programs, volunteer opportunities, community events, and family support services.
Melvindale Thrive Initiative is working to create free and low-cost programs that help residents connect, learn, serve, and thrive close to home. Our long-term goal is to build a stronger support network for youth, families, seniors, disabled residents, veterans, volunteers, and neighbors through practical programs and community partnerships.
